It is with great sadness we have to announce the death of Pam Handford at 7.15pm on Sunday 8th February 2009.
Pam's funeral service will be held at the Javea Crematorium at noon (12.00 a.m.) on Thursday 12th February. Pam's daughter has asked for no wreaths or flowers, but Pam had told Maureen that it would be nice if everyone took a pink rose or a flower of their choice.
Messages from her many friends will be added to the site - please email ufojavea@gmail.com
This has come from Pat and Ken Thompson who were members of our group for a long time and knew Pam well . Nice to see people still thinking about her We were both very sad to hear of Pammie`s passing, she was a very special lady and friend. We joined the group 13 or more years ago, but sadly lost touch for the past 4 years due to work commitments. Pammie wasan amazing lady with such a wealth of knowledge, she will be sadly missed but never forgotten, Love from Pat & Kenxx
Hallo Everybody, This is Ginnie. I have been a member of the U.F.O group for at least 13 years. We have all been aware of what our Pammie has been through, but even so it is such a shock when it happens. I took these photos at our Christmas U.F.O party in December. Pammie looked really well. I loved her very much....God bless Pamela Handsford.... love Ginnie xxxxx
We did not know Pam for very long, but whenever we met her we were impressed by her obvious enthusiasm and love of life. She will be missed and we would like to join with all her friends in sending our sincere condolences to her family.
She has left a legacy in the UFO Society and it will be the duty of us all to carry on the work she started, and to keep up the high standards that she set.
Sincerely Brian Maddox & Mike Egan.
We have not known Pam as long as most in the group, however during what time we had we grew very fond of "our friend Pam" and will miss her greatly. She was a great person, always so full of life, knowledge and interest and the world is a sadder place for her passing. Lee and Gaylexxxxxxxxx
I was sorry to read that Pam had died. I only saw her twice and did not have an opportunity to speak directly with her, but was impressed by her enthusiasm for everything she spoke about, and wanted to know.I have said a prayer for her, and hope that she now has many of the answers she enquired and sought. With my condolences to her family. Janet Bayley
I am so sorry to hear of the death of Pam. I only ever saw her once at a meeting last year and in fact never even got to speak with her.
As I believe death is only the end of one era and the beginning of another I wish her a smooth and safe transition, and am glad she now feels no pain.Namaste. Colleen
It was with great sadness, and although we knew things were not good, still shocked, to learn of Pam's passing. We will remember her as the grand lady she was, gentle, kind, and a mind sharp and full of knowledge on our shared passion UFO's and world mysteries. She taught us so much and there was so much more she wanted to give but alas illness overtook her wish to pass her wealth of knowledge on. However we will always remember her with fondness and wish her peace and tranquility as she moves on to her next life. God Bless You Pam xxxxx Ro & Avy
It is with great sorrow that Ian and myself have received the news that one of the greatest friends we have had in this dimension has passed on Into the next one. She has made this lifetime here on Earth a very special place to be, and we feel so very blessed that we had the great honour of coming to Spain and meeting her in 1994. She made our lives sparkle in so many ways, she was a very rare diamond and Pamela will stand in our memory forever. Pamela is now a very special Star on high, and I think she will consider herself “Home” .She was a woman who came back from the Future, to be with all of us here in Spain. We will never forget you dearest friend we send you all our love, and may you rest in peace and light forever. Yvonne and Ian Cleak
Very sorry to hear the sad news of Pam's passing. She will be collecting all her spiritual rewards for being such an inspiration and teacher to many people. I am sorry I will not be there at the funeral but will hold a flower and say a prayer for her at that moment. Dot Rodgers
"We first met Pam in 2001 when we joined the UFO Group, the journey from home in Torrevieja taking almost 2hrs, but they were meetings not to be missed. PAM, changed our view of the world and gave us the ability "to read between the lines" and "observe what people do" rather than what they say. In other words, PAM changed our lives for the better and will be sadly missed. We will be forever in her debt.
Rest in Peace Pam. Love Peter & Brenda Simpson."
We too felt very, very sorry to hear that Pam died. We met her only once but we will remember her as a radiant, special person. We have sent her in our meditations love and light. We plan to see everybody again at the next meeting.Best regards, Hans van Nuenen and Marianne van Bussel
We felt so sad to hear of Pam's passing, we didn't know her that well but did find her a warm, sincere and helpful lady. We will be thinking of her, especially around midday on Thursday. Albert and Eunice Hancy
We will miss you Dear Pam, you achieved much and stirred our imaginations in the 14 years as leader of the UFO group. I will miss you and our little telephone chats. Very happy memories and kind thoughts, Robert.

Manfred and me have been members of this group since 1995. This group has always been a platform for passing on knowledge and for controversial discussions. This was garanteed by Pam with her ernormous background and her willingsness to share with all of us. The library was a fundus for everybody , very rare oportunity to get deeper into the matter. We are very sorry that we lost her and wish her a wounderful journeys into better worlds full of splendor and understanding .Our thoughts are with her family. Manfred and Elke
We were very sorry to hear of Pamela's death. She was a great personality, knowing the walk of life in night and day. And night ends always in the light. sincerely, Henk and Jane Brandehof
We met Pam many years ago when we first went along to a U.F.O. meeting, we believe at that time itnwas in the El Faison restaurant. Later we were gathering at a Chinese restaurant and then we moved to a meeting room at Javea Tennis Club, so over the years we have had several different 'homes'. We also had several enjoyable summer evening parties around the pool at Pam and Terry's villa.
We will miss Pam's talks, always very well researches, her anecdotes and her brilliant outstanding memory.
Pam is irreplaceable and will never be forgotten. Roy and Shirley.
It was with great sadness that we heard that dear Pammie passed away. She was a great person and so full of knowledge. When we first joined the UFO Club some 10 years ago she made us most welcomed during that time she became a dear friend. I last spoke to Pammie a couple of days before her operation and instead of her being concerned about what laid ahead for her she was more concerned about how Susanna was doing. She will be missed but will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Pammie. Love Eleanor & Susanna xxx
Hola I am sure that Pam is well on her way to visit the places that she always dreamt of, Give us a sign when you can Pam , I will miss the hand of friendship that you gave, And now I see that your name picked up the message , A HAND WORTH FRIENDSHIP . WIN Jones
“I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Pamela “Pammie” Handford. I never had the pleasure of meeting her personally but spoke to her many times over the years when she would ring me about UFO club activities. Her dedication to the association and her belief in the subjects she spoke about were obvious to all that knew her. She has left a huge void that cannot be filled and will be sorely missed by family and friends”. From Eileen, Costa Blanca News.”
Oh, how sad. I had a lovely letter from her at Christmas saying that she hadn't been well. I knew Pamela since about 1985. She was a loyal friend who supported my work for over thirty years. I shall miss her friendship.
With sympathy and kind regards,
Timothy Good
This page is currently being used for messages from Pam's family and friends - but don't forget the legacy of the group she has left us.
The Javea UFO discussion/research and world mysteries group was set up by founder member and life President, Pamela Handford in 1994.
During that time the group had enjoyed continued support from people who are interested in exploring the topic with an open and enquiring mind.
The subjects covered include:
All aspects of Modern and Ancient Ufology
World mysteries and artifacts
Unexplained world mysteries phenomenon
Government conspiracies and cover ups
Ancient astronauts
We cover Ancient and Modern ufology, including Roswell, Mayas, Incas Sumerians and Egyptians. World Mysteries, also encompassing conspiracies, crop circles, earth changes, global warming, the New World Order and many other contentious subjects in our quest for the truth. Probably the most talked about incident in recent UFO history is Roswell. Something came down in a storm on 4th July 1947. Was it as the Americans say, an experimental balloon, or as most Ufologists believe an extra-terrestrial spacecraft? The debate has raged for over 60 years and has been denied and covered up ever since. We ask why?
Rendlesham Forest was a modern day visit by spacecraft in Suffolk, England. Soldiers on duty saw a spacecraft descend, but was it extra terrestrial visit, or an experimental craft from a nearby US airbase. We discuss!
Were the Egyptian Gods in fact visitors from outer space, sent to earth to educate mankind? What are the pyramids telling us and how can we solve the controversies surrounding them? We research!
Crop circles - what are they? Who formed them? Terrestrial, extra terrestrial or dimensional? What are the messages they are telling us?
We meet on the first Friday of the month at the Social Services Centre in the old town area of Javea on the Costa Blanca. (Next to the Salud and directly across the road from the new underground car park in the Plaza De La Constitucion - lots of parking spaces)
If you would like to attend one of our meetings we would be delighted to welcome you. All talks are in English.
